We’re Expanding!

We have some exciting news to share - the NK Food Pantry is expanding!

As the need in our community continues to grow and our current space grows more limited, our Board of Directors made the pivotal decision to expand. After years of careful planning, fundraising, and preparation, we’re ready to take this major step forward.

Our new space will allow us to serve more clients, offer greater food variety, add essential cold storage, and introduce an area for educational cooking demonstrations. Thanks to the skill of our top-rate construction team, the foundation is already set and the first walls of our new addition are standing, a mere six weeks into the project!

It is an honor to lead this organization as we grow to meet the rising need, and I’m deeply grateful for your continued support. Together, we are expanding our capacity to nourish and serve more families throughout our community.

Kristin Jahne, Pantry Manager

Construction Images So Far

Construction of our new addition and expansion started on August 1st. On Friday, August 8, 2025, we celebrated a historic step forward - the groundbreaking for our building expansion! Nearly 100 people gathered with us to celebrate - state officials, local officials, dedicated donors, and community members who believe in our mission.

The photos below show what will eventually be our food storage and receiving area. Make sure to take a look at the progress with every newsletter we send out. Also, follow the progress and keep updated on our NK Food Pantry Facebook and Instagram pages.
