Merry Christmas to You and Yours

December  2021 Newsletter

Our Thanksgiving baskets were a huge success! We are thankful for you!
Your support, generosity, and care has made a huge difference in the lives of the North Kingstown families we serve.
Since the start of the COVID 19 pandemic in March of 2020, the compassion of our community has kept us going and made it possible for us to serve the influx of families in need due to the pandemic.
Thanks to you, we are taking great strides towards creating a hunger free North Kingstown. As we move into this holiday season, we want to convey how immensely grateful we are for your support and the contributions you have made to our mission.

Another Success

Another Success. We had 420 request for our special Thanksgiving program and we were able to fill them all. To quote our Head Turkey Chairman, Richard Jacques, “true community effort; so many to thank.” A special shout out to the NK Police and the Fire departments. The police kept us safe and the traffic running smoothly; the fire fighters brought in special lighting so our volunteers could see and work safely. And of course, Boy Scout Troop 152 is always there to help with heavy lifting.

Thanks for filling our shopping cart

December 2021 J.Wheeler

Some of you may remember a post last year with Jake Charlton, who launched “Cookies for Charity” with 100% of the proceeds going to the NK Food Pantry. The early days of the pandemic gave him purpose and allowed him to utilize his free time into something greater than himself. Friends, family, and neighbors just love his lemon cookies and they keep coming back. Jake is an 8th grader at the Wheeler School and has now made multiple donations to the pantry. When Jake came back this year, he presented the Pantry with another check for $1000! The NK Food Pantry cannot thank Jake enough for his initiative and determination to help those struggling with food insecurities. Jake – thank you once again!
