A Message From Our President

The Pantry is open and serving clients. We are thankful for the people who continue to volunteer for us and to aid our clients. We are pre-bagging food and bringing bags out to client’s cars. We have not resumed allowing clients into our small Pantry to pick out the food items they want. However our Operations Manager Stephen Souls, built a form to allow clients to exclude items they can not eat, or do not want. As fall approaches, we are experiencing more clients calling the Pantry for appointments. Please pass on to families that we serve all North Kingstown families who are in need.

We do not ask for proof of income, merely that you live in North Kingstown. Our mission is to feed the hungry people of North Kingstown, and we do not turn people away. Thank you for supporting our mission.

Special donation thanks to Noel Roby, who, through the Town of NK Rec Department, just completed a safe and successful summer T-Ball through 4th grade baseball program this summer. Noel is accompanied in the photo by his mom, Joanne – a long time volunteer here at the pantry.

A Note from the RI Community Food Bank

Tasty Tuesday:
Today we are sharing a recipe from our Healthy Habits Nutrition Education Program. The team here at the food bank uses pantry staples to create healthy recipes that are simple to prepare. Start you day off right with these healthy tropical fruit muffins:

Our new paved parking lot, courtesy of a Champlin Foundation grant. We also constructed a second ramp to make access to the Pantry easier and safer. We planned for this change for two years and are excited that it finally came to fruition.

Thanks Carol

Every Tuesday Carol from Stop & Shop is on hand to ensure the Pantry gets fresh meat and poultry for our clients.

Pantry Board Member, Nancy Champagne, reports that the Vacation Nutrition Program went very well in August. A total of 71 families took part with 152 children. In addition to the food given, a vegetable cart was set up outside as well as some coloring books and a box of binders and folders that the families could take.
