Thank you supporters of the NK Food Pantry! We are proud to announce the NK Food Pantry won the “Best of the Best Practice Award” for our ability to accept fresh produce and small potted herbs and plants, then pass them onto our clients quickly through our use of Constant Contact.
We are also happy to progress on our parking project that is funded by the Champlin grant. We received the grant six months ago and are now moving forward to provide a second ramp, and paved parking lot and allow a second safe entrance and egress. You will see the project progress over the next few weeks.
Have you gone to our new Food Pantry website? If you attempt to go to the former Google site, it is gone. However, if you click on

We want to thank board member, Trish Cawley & the NK School District Food Services workers for providing healthy meals to NK families in the months of April- June. And or the weeks that we partnered with the school system to give away pre-cooked healthy meals to North Kingstown families. There were an average of 345 families who received a meal each Tuesday and Friday. That translated to 520 students and 11,339 free meals provided to hungry families in North Kingstown. Thank you for making this possible! The distribution of breakfast and lunches for the children will continue from June 29-August 31 at the high school and the vacant Tarbox lot. Since the school year is over, our partnership has ended; however, the NK school district was granted funding to provide healthy lunches to NK students during the summer.
The NK Food Pantry does not plan on hosting our regular August picnic to say thank you to donors and volunteers, due to the COVID-19 crisis. However we will still say thank you to our volunteers and donors. We are having a special recognition of those folks who are able to help us out during the COVID-19 shut down. The NK Food Pantry could not do this without your help. Thank you!
